Mark A. Serlin - Attorney at Law


Mark received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982 and his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, San Francisco in 1985. Thereafter, Mr. Serlin received his Masters in Economics from Cambridge University, United Kingdom in 1986.

Mr. Serlin began his legal career with the San Francisco firm of Feldman, Waldman & Kline in 1986, handling lending and real estate transactional work, as well as representing creditors, receivers, and bankruptcy trustees in commercial litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.

In 1991, Mr. Serlin moved to the Sacramento law firm of Burger & Flaherty, where he headed up the bankruptcy, commercial law and transactions practice areas of the firm. He left Burger & Flaherty with Michael Flaherty in 1993 to form Flaherty & Serlin, heading up the same practice areas for the new firm. Thereafter, Mr. Serlin operated as a solo practitioner for six years before forming Serlin & Whiteford, LLP, continuing in the areas of creditors' rights, commercial and business litigation, and commercial and real estate transactions.

Mr. Serlin has regularly taught commercial collection courses for 15 years and is authorized to appear in all state and federal courts throughout the State of California. Also, Mr. Serlin has been admitted pro hac vice to litigate on behalf of clients in nearly all of the Western states.
